Because Andy and Marcel often told about their experiences in the NC club szene, our colleagues Jeremias and Manuel who spend an Erasmus semester in Sligo, Ireland, decided to stop by for a visit.
On the first day (Saturday) I picked them up from the airport and we drove to the north of Newcastle for playing Paintball. I stayed in save distance to take some photographs while the boys were playing war. I think that the role of the war correspondent really fits me very well, maybe I should study journalism.
Now I think I should explain you the procedure and the basic rules:
First of all the players get new cloths: some really odd grey overalls and a belt for the ammo.
All in all there were six teams and always two teams had a battle against each other. There also were different battle fields where two ten-minute-battles were fought. Soldiers who were struck had to leave the field except if it was a headshot , they did not count.
To acquire a winner team there was a point system but I didn’t quiet get this one and it is not important anyway because our boys won.
Just watching them was quiet fun, especially when Jeremias (who is a pacifist by heart) said: “I want to have a riffle, and I want it now!” The soil was completely muddy because of the rain and soon all the soldiers looked like pigs who wallowed in dirt and paint. And there was also a victim in the Austrian team: Andy's jeans was torn, but things like this happen in war. Really a great sight, you should have a look at the photos.
On Sunday we went to Tynemouth, Monday we made a sightseeing tour in NC.
The evenings were reserved for the clubs and girls in their short skirts because they were the main purpose of this visit. But I won’t tell any more because I just was with them one time and not everything should be mentioned here…
Tuesday in the evening they left us again, so I want to say: Thank you a million times http://unix.lt/thankyou.swf for your visit, it was a great time.
